Harriet Clapham

FOUNDER

Harriet Clapham began her career at Gagosian London in 2012. Though part of the sales team, her role extended to supporting artists during exhibitions and working with corporations and governmental bodies on public projects. In addition to coordinating the Crossrail Art Programme, Harriet formalised an initiative with Westminster Council for the periodic display of large-scale sculpture in prime areas of central London. This included a collaboration with the Henry Moore Foundation.

In 2014 Harriet relocated to Switzerland, representing the gallery’s interests in Zürich and supporting Jenny Saville ahead of her landmark exhibition alongside Egon Schiele at the Kunsthaus Zürich.

Harriet left Gagosian in 2015. She spent one year with Société Générale Private Bank in Zürich, where she advised senior management in Paris and Luxembourg on the introduction of art lending facilities. Since 2017 she has been advising her clients independently.

With a view to bridging the gap between corporate and cultural environments, Harriet has delivered formal presentations on the art market, notably at Sotheby’s Zürich and the 2017 Geneva Forum for Alternative Investment. Harriet’s expertise has also been cited by such international press as the Financial Times.

She received her MA with honours in Art History from the University of St Andrews in 2011 and is a graduate of the Sotheby's Institute of Art. She also holds a certificate in Wealth and Investment Management from the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment.

Most recently Harriet has been working closely with The National Gallery, London. She is co-chair of their Young Ambassadors programme, the inaugural patronage group for the next generation of supporters. She is also overseeing the production of an in-store art installation and corresponding launch for Browns Fashion.
